The Wines Worth Opening Right Now

Every bottle has a moment. Not every wine earns one. At ACORVINA, we taste through dozens, sometimes hundreds of wines to find the few that stop us mid-sentence. The ones that make you pause, look up, and say “this… this is it.”

This month, we’re sharing this bottle that didn’t just pass the test, it demanded attention… EL MACIA Red. Small production. Limited availability. No safety net. This is the bottle you open “just to try”… and suddenly it’s gone.

Built on the backbone of Garnaxa Negra & Carinyena, this wine brings structure without heaviness, fruit without excess, and a finish that keeps pulling you back in. It’s the kind of red that works on a Tuesday, but drinks like a Saturday night.

Why we selected EL MACIA:
It punches above its weight in every category. Balance, depth, and versatility—all without the ego.

What to expect:
Dark cherry, subtle spice, a touch of earth, and a smooth, confident finish.

Perfect for: Grilled meats, tapas, or that one friend who “doesn’t usually like red.”

ZAMORA, SPAIN

The Survivor — Natural Wine

A Wine That Refused to Disappear. Some wines are made. Others are rescued.

Hidden in the rugged landscapes of Zamora, these vines were never meant to survive. Forgotten grape varieties, Albillo Real, once on the brink of extinction, left behind by time, war, and shifting tastes. And yet… they endured.

For over a century, these vines have lived through conflict, disease, and climate extremes. No irrigation. No shortcuts. Just roots digging deeper, year after year. JuanJo isn’t your typical winemaker. He’s part historian, part rebel, reviving grapes most had already forgotten. Where others saw the end, he saw potential.

This is not just survival, this is defiance. ALBYREAL is a wine we pour, share, and talk about long after the glass is empty.

Where Family Meets the Vine

Rooted in France but shaped by a New Zealand spirit, Wilford brings together two worlds, precision and freedom, tradition and openness. His vineyard is not just a place of production, it’s a living farm, where cattle roam, soils regenerate naturally, and sustainability isn’t a trend, it’s a way of being.

Everything here works in rhythm and nothing feels forced.

But what makes his wines truly special is something far more personal.

Each bottle is a tribute to his four children: LuLu, Margot, and the two brothers. You feel it not just in the names, but in the energy of the wines themselves playful yet composed, expressive yet balanced.

What to expect: Clean, vibrant profiles Elegant structure without heaviness Wines that feel polished—but never pretentious

And then there are the labels... Distinctive. Memorable. Full of character.
